The Unmoored Generation is an initiative of the Likoudis Legacy Foundation dedicated to bringing the Catholic intellectual tradition to bear on the crisis of meaning and purpose afflicting young adults across the Western world.

We believe the malaise observed by educators, therapists, and parents is not primarily psychological or political. It is anthropological—rooted in a civilizational loss of answers to the fundamental questions: What am I for? Why does suffering exist? To whom do I belong? Is there anything beyond what I can see?

The Catholic tradition possesses two millennia of rigorous, tested responses to these questions. Our mission is to make those responses available, compelling, and actionable for the people and institutions working with young adults today.

We pursue this mission through:

Scholarly research and publication—commissioning and disseminating work that bridges the Catholic anthropological tradition with contemporary social science on youth mental health, loneliness, and purposelessness.

Formation resources—developing practical materials for parishes, campus ministries, Catholic schools, and lay communities, including rules of life, vocation discernment frameworks, and community-building guides.

Public intellectual engagement—placing the Catholic anthropological argument in major publications, at conferences, and in public discourse, reaching audiences beyond the Church who are hungry for a non-therapeutic framework.

Convening leaders—bringing together educators, anthropologists, theologians, and pastoral leaders who refuse to accept despair as the new normal and are ready to offer something better.
